🔒
Backup equipment always on site
Full redundancy for every critical piece of kit. Your event never gets derailed by equipment failure.
Fast turnaround
Highlight edits typically delivered within 24–72 hours of your event. Content ready when the momentum is still high.

Remote delivery
Footage delivered digitally — no physical handoff, no friction, ready for immediate use.
The challenge

Most events are over in a day — and the content is lost.

Marketing teams invest significant budget in events, then struggle to capture everything professionally, turn footage into usable content quickly, or maximise the ROI from that spend. A well-filmed event should fuel your marketing for weeks — not disappear the moment the room empties.

The solution

Content built for immediate use.

Every shot, every interview and every deliverable is planned around how your team will actually use the content — social media, internal comms, campaigns, PR and sales.

  • Fast-turnaround highlight films for same-week publishing
  • Speaker & panel recordings for on-demand content
  • On-site interviews for LinkedIn and PR
  • Social-ready clips for immediate distribution

How I work

My approach to event videography.

Every event is different. My process is built to adapt — whilst keeping quality, efficiency and your goals at the centre of everything I do.

💬

📋
02 — PRE-PRODUCTION PLANNING

I plan every shot in advance — run of show, key moments, interview setups and b-roll needs. Backup equipment is always prepared so nothing is left to chance on the day.

FAQ

Common questions about event videography.

On-site video production starts from £750 + VAT for a half day (up to 4 hours) and £1,200 + VAT for a full day (up to 9 hours). Post-production is priced separately at £750/day or £99/hour depending on the complexity of deliverables. Multi-day events and bespoke projects are quoted individually. I always provide a detailed, transparent quote after a free consultation — no hidden fees.

I recommend booking as early as possible — ideally 4–8 weeks before your event — to secure your date and allow adequate time for pre-production planning. That said, I do accommodate last-minute bookings where my schedule allows, so it's always worth getting in touch even if your event is coming up soon.

I work independently and unobtrusively throughout your event — capturing keynote speeches, panel discussions, networking moments, interviews and b-roll footage. I self-direct on the day so you can stay focused on running your event. I always carry backup equipment to ensure nothing gets missed.

Turnaround time depends on the scope of the project, but a standard event highlights reel is typically delivered within 5–10 working days of the event. Rush delivery is available if you need your video sooner — just let us know your deadline at the time of booking.

Yes — I am based in London and Berkshire but regularly travel across the UK and internationally for events. Travel costs for out-of-London events are discussed and agreed transparently as part of your quote.

Videos are delivered digitally via a secure download link. I deliver in high-resolution MP4 format as standard, optimised for web, social media and presentation use. Additional formats or aspect ratios (e.g. vertical cuts for Instagram Reels) can be provided on request.

Yes — same-day edits and live social content are available for certain events. This works best when planned in advance as part of the production brief, so I can allocate the right time and resources. Please mention this requirement when you get in touch.

Yes — I offer both video and photography at events, either as a combined package or separately. Using one person for both keeps things simple, consistent and cost-effective. See our photography service for more details.

About this service

Brand that gets results.

A well-crafted brand film is one of the most powerful tools in your marketing arsenal. It communicates who you are, what you stand for and why clients should choose you — in the time it takes to watch a short video.

At Medialook, I blend creative storytelling with commercial focus. Every brand film is built around your goals: whether that's website conversion, social engagement, trade show presence or internal communications.

I can also shoot B-roll footage — the extra material that enriches your narrative and gives far greater flexibility during the edit. Instead of relying solely on interviews, B-roll adds dimension and visual depth to your story.

Clear, engaging videos that make complex products, services and processes immediately understandable.

About this service

Explainer that gets results.

Explainer videos work so much better than elevator speeches because your audience doesn't just hear what you do — they see it at the same time. Hearing and seeing together dramatically increases comprehension and retention.

Whether you need a live-action explainer, a whiteboard animation or a mix of both, I can craft a video that takes your most complex concept and makes it immediately clear to any audience.

Explainer videos are ideal for product demos, onboarding, sales enablement, landing pages and trade show screens. They work 24/7 as a silent salesperson for your business.

LIVE
STREAMING.

Real-time global broadcast for your event — professional quality, seamless setup, zero technical stress.

About this service

Live that gets results.

Live streaming transforms your event from a room full of attendees into a global audience. Whether you're broadcasting a conference keynote, product launch, training session or awards ceremony, professional live streaming ensures your remote viewers get the same broadcast-quality experience as those in the room.

I use a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro multi-camera switching setup, streaming directly to your chosen platform — YouTube, LinkedIn Live, Zoom, Teams, Vimeo or a custom RTMP destination.

I plan and test the full technical setup in advance, arrive early to configure everything, and manage the stream throughout the day so you can focus entirely on your event.

TYPICAL PRODUCTION INCLUDES

Pricing

Every live stream is quoted individually.

Live streaming is a bespoke service — no two events have the same requirements, so there's no fixed price list. The right setup for a single-camera webinar is very different from a multi-camera conference with bonded internet and on-screen graphics, and the cost reflects that.

Tell me about your event — the date, venue, number of cameras, platforms and run time — and I'll put together a clear, itemised quote with no surprises. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation consultation.

WHAT SHAPES YOUR QUOTE
Number of cameras — single feed through to multi-camera switched production
Event duration — a short webinar versus a full conference day
Connectivity — venue internet, or bonded/4G backup for total reliability
Graphics & branding — lower thirds, slides, holding screens and overlays
Platforms & deliverables — single or multi-platform, plus any recorded edits afterwards

All quotes ex. VAT @ 20%. Free consultation and itemised quote for every project.

The Importance of Memory Cards in Professional Videography

Understanding the role of memory cards

One of the questions I get asked most often by clients preparing for a shoot is: "what do you actually need from us on the day?" Equipment is usually the last thing on their mind — and understandably so. But from a videographer's perspective, the choices made before the camera even rolls have a direct impact on what's possible in the edit. Memory cards are one of those invisible decisions that separates a smooth shoot from a stressful one.

Event videographer filming a keynote at Robosen London

Filming a live keynote — situations where card speed and capacity directly affects what you can capture

Why card speed matters for 4K and RAW

My primary cameras are Canon R5 and R6 bodies, both shooting in 4K. The Canon R5 in particular — which I use for high-end corporate and brand film work — writes data at up to 2,600 MB/s in RAW mode. A standard SD card simply cannot keep pace with that. If the card is too slow, the camera buffers, you miss the shot, and you spend the rest of the event waiting for the buffer to clear at exactly the wrong moment.

For Canon R5 and R6 shoots I use CFexpress Type B cards — specifically Angelbird AV Pro CFexpress cards at 1,700+ MB/s write speeds. For secondary SD card slots I use Sony Tough UHS-II cards (V90 rated). The V90 rating means a minimum sustained write speed of 90MB/s — fast enough to handle 4K footage continuously without frame drops.

Capacity: how much card do you actually need?

A full day corporate event shoot — nine hours on-site, multiple cameras — can generate between 400GB and 1TB of raw footage. I carry multiple cards and rotate them throughout the day, offloading to a portable SSD during lunch breaks. Running out of space mid-speech is not a recoverable situation, which is why I always have more capacity on-site than I expect to need.

For smaller shoots — a half-day interview session or a product photography job — 128GB to 256GB per camera is typically sufficient. The formula is simple: estimate your shooting hours, multiply by your approximate bitrate, add 40% buffer.

Honor 10 Global Launch Event Highlights

Honor 10 Global Launch — an example of a fast-paced product launch where card reliability is essential

Card care on location

Heat is the enemy of flash storage. Direct sunlight on a card wallet, a bag left in a car on a summer day, or a camera sitting under stage lighting for six hours — all of these elevate operating temperatures and can cause write errors. I keep cards in a hard-shell case inside my camera bag, away from direct heat sources.

I also format cards in-camera rather than on a computer. In-camera formatting writes the correct file system structure for that specific body, which reduces the risk of read errors later. Cards are never deleted file-by-file on location — only formatted at the start of a fresh job once the previous footage has been backed up to at least two drives.

The backup workflow

Every shoot is backed up to two separate drives before any card is formatted. I use a Gnarbox or LaCie Rugged SSD as the first backup, with a second copy going to a separate portable drive. The original card stays unformatted until both backups have been verified. For conference shoots where I'm delivering same-day or 24-hour turnaround content, I'll start the edit from the backup while the originals are still on the cards — this way footage is never at risk from a drive failure during the edit.

It's an unglamorous part of the job, but reliable storage management is what separates a professional who can confidently promise same-day delivery from one who can't.

Case Study

How to Prepare for Event Video and Photo Coverage

A Potenza Masterclass case study — Cynosure EMEA

In May 2024 I was commissioned by Cynosure EMEA to cover their Potenza Masterclass event — a specialist medical education day bringing together aesthetic practitioners from across Europe to train on the Potenza radiofrequency microneedling device. The brief was to produce both photography and video content that could be used across Cynosure's digital and sales channels after the event.

Cynosure educational event videographer London

Cynosure Potenza Masterclass — practitioner education session

The brief

Events like this present a specific challenge: the audience is medical professionals, not consumers. The content needs to communicate clinical credibility and precision — not the high-energy atmosphere you'd want from a consumer product launch. Cynosure needed footage that would work in a B2B context: for KOL outreach, for sales enablement materials, and for post-event communications to the practitioners who attended.

The deliverables were: a highlights video (under three minutes), a series of expert interview clips with the lead trainers, still photography of the training environment and equipment in use, and social-ready cuts formatted for LinkedIn.

Cynosure Potenza medical device demonstration videographer

Approach on the day

The event was held at the Cynosure EMEA training facility. With medical demonstrations running throughout the day, discretion was essential — no large lighting rigs, no disruption to the clinical environment. I used available light supplemented with a single compact Aputure panel positioned off-camera, and a wireless lapel mic system for the interview segments to keep the talent comfortable and unencumbered.

The photography ran simultaneously with video capture using a second Canon body on a peak lapel, allowing me to document the full sequence of the training day — from arrivals and setup through to live treatment demonstrations and delegate networking — without interrupting the flow of the event.

European Laser & Science Symposium 2024 — Cynosure

Cynosure EMEA Symposium 2024 — a larger-scale example of medical aesthetics event coverage

Results

The highlights video and interview clips were delivered within 72 hours of the event. The social cuts were formatted in 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 for LinkedIn and Instagram. Cynosure used the content across their post-event delegate communications, social channels and internal sales materials.

This shoot has since led to an ongoing working relationship covering Cynosure's annual education programme — a pattern I see regularly with medical aesthetics clients where consistent, brand-appropriate visual content is produced across multiple events each year.

Cynosure EMEA Symposium 2024 event photography London

Cynosure EMEA Symposium 2024 — larger-scale congress photography

Key considerations for medical aesthetics event content

If you're planning video or photography coverage for a medical education event, training day or product launch in the aesthetics space, these are the points that tend to matter most: patient confidentiality (no identifiable patients without consent forms), clinical accuracy in how treatments are shown, and brand consistency with the device manufacturer's visual guidelines. Getting these right from the brief stage — not the edit stage — is what produces content that can actually be used across all channels without legal or compliance issues downstream.

Why ongoing coverage matters for aesthetics brands

For brands like Cynosure, the post-event content lifecycle extends well beyond the event itself. Highlights videos become sales enablement tools used by the field team. Interview clips become website content for product pages. Photography feeds press releases, LinkedIn posts and delegate communications for months afterwards. Commissioning thorough coverage — rather than the minimum — consistently delivers better return on the investment in the event itself.

The same principle applies to smaller clinics commissioning KOL content or education day coverage. A single well-produced shoot, planned carefully, can generate social content, website assets and CRM materials that serve the brand for a full quarter. That changes the economics of professional production significantly — and it starts with the brief.

Guide

Mastering the Art of the Corporate Video

A guide for marketing and communications teams

Corporate video production is one of those disciplines where the gap between "technically competent" and "actually useful to the client" is wider than it looks. After shooting corporate content for companies including Appian, Yexle, Serco and Nokia across London and Berkshire, a few consistent lessons have emerged — about what makes the difference between a video that gets used and one that doesn't.

The brief always comes first

The most common failure mode in corporate video isn't technical — it's a vague brief. "We want something professional that represents our brand" is a starting point, not a brief. Before any camera is unpacked, I want to know: who is watching this, where will they see it, what should they think or do after watching, and what's the single most important thing the video must communicate? The answers to those four questions determine every creative decision that follows.

Corporate video production London — Appian x Yexle at the Walkie Talkie building

Appian x Yexle — filmed at 20 Fenchurch Street, London

The Appian x Yexle shoot — a real example

One of the more memorable briefs I've worked on was a partnership announcement video for Appian and Yexle, filmed at the Walkie Talkie building (20 Fenchurch Street) in London. The challenge was specific: both company names are routinely mispronounced, and the video needed to address this directly while demonstrating a genuine working relationship between two senior people from each company.

The solution was a two-camera interview format with the Managing Director of Yexle and a senior partner from Appian speaking to each other rather than to camera — a conversational format that created natural, contextual pronunciation of both names without feeling forced. Scripted monologue couldn't have achieved the same result. The final video was used across global sales and marketing channels.

Appian x Yexle — Corporate Brand Video

Appian x Yexle partnership video — filmed at 20 Fenchurch Street, London

Audio is more important than the camera

Viewers will forgive imperfect visuals before they'll forgive bad audio. Muddy dialogue, inconsistent levels or background noise will kill a corporate video regardless of how good the cinematography is. On every shoot I use Sennheiser lapel microphones as the primary audio source, supplemented by a boom mic as backup. On location — particularly in open-plan offices or concrete-walled meeting rooms — I'll do a recce of the space in advance to identify acoustic problems that need solving before shooting starts.

Turnaround as part of the brief

For event-based content especially, post-production speed is a commercial consideration. A conference highlights video published 72 hours after the event captures momentum — delegates are still talking, LinkedIn is active, the conversation is live. The same video published three weeks later competes with whatever happened last week. Fast turnaround requires pre-production planning: knowing which moments matter before the day, having music selections ready, and building an edit workflow that doesn't start from scratch at midnight.

Plan your deliverables before you shoot

A single shoot day can produce a main video, a 60-second social cut, a 15-second ad cut, vertical formats for Instagram and a set of still frames for press. Agree on all deliverables before production begins — adding formats after the edit is finished is possible but expensive. The economics of one shoot day producing multiple assets are compelling when planned upfront; much less so when retrofitted after the fact.

Guide

The Power of DIY Video Case Studies

And when to call in the pros — a guide for businesses

Video case studies are one of the highest-converting formats in B2B marketing. A well-produced case study — client on camera, specific results, credible storytelling — can move a prospect further through the sales funnel than a dozen blog posts or white papers. The question for most businesses isn't whether to make them, it's whether to do it themselves or commission a professional. The honest answer depends on how the content will actually be used.

When DIY makes sense

For internal use — training materials, onboarding videos, team updates — DIY is often perfectly appropriate. A modern smartphone shoots better video than broadcast cameras did a decade ago. If the content is going to a captive internal audience who already trust the brand, production values matter less than clarity and speed of delivery.

For social media content that's explicitly informal — behind-the-scenes footage, quick client reactions at an event, impromptu testimonials — a phone-shot clip often performs better than something that looks too produced. Authenticity reads differently at different points of the funnel.

Corporate video case study interview filmed at trade show London

On-location interview filming — trade show environment, London

When professional production changes the outcome

The calculus shifts when the content is going to prospects who don't yet know you, or to decision-makers whose trust you're trying to earn. A law firm's case study video featuring a Fortune 500 client, shot on a phone in a meeting room with ceiling strip lighting and ambient office noise, communicates something about the firm — and not what they intended.

Professional production adds controlled lighting, broadcast-quality audio, a proper shooting location, a considered structure and post-production polish. More importantly, it adds a producer who can guide the subject through an interview — drawing out the specific quotes and moments that actually make a compelling story, rather than hoping the client says something usable while staring nervously at a camera.

Customer Success Case Study — Appian / Serco

Serco case study — a professionally produced client success video used across the sales funnel

The format that works

The most effective video case studies follow a simple three-part structure: challenge, approach, results. The challenge establishes why the client needed help and makes the problem relatable to prospects in similar situations. The approach shows what was done without getting lost in technical detail. The results are specific — numbers where possible, named outcomes where not. "It transformed our business" is much weaker than "We reduced onboarding time from three weeks to four days."

Length depends on where the video will be used. A full case study for a website landing page can run two to four minutes. A cut for LinkedIn or a sales presentation should be under 90 seconds. Both should come from the same shoot, planned in advance.

What it costs and what to expect

A professionally produced video case study typically requires a half day to a full day of filming (£750–£1,200 + VAT), plus post-production depending on complexity (typically one to two days at £750/day). The total investment for a finished case study used across multiple channels over multiple years is modest relative to what a single converted enterprise sale is worth. The question isn't whether you can afford to commission one — it's whether you can afford the opportunity cost of not having one in your sales toolkit.

Aesthetics

The Power of Visual Content for Medical Aesthetic Clinics

A practical guide — including budget-friendly options

Medical aesthetic clinics operate in a peculiar content environment. The results you produce are genuinely visual — but showing those results is tightly constrained by regulations, GMC guidelines and platform policies. The content that actually builds trust and drives bookings isn't before-and-after photography (increasingly restricted on Instagram and Meta) but something more nuanced: professional video and photography that communicates expertise, environment and the experience of being a patient in your clinic.

Medical aesthetics videographer filming KOL interview London

KOL interview filming at the Sinclair Pro Beauty trade show, London

What content actually works for aesthetic clinics

The content formats that consistently perform well for aesthetic clinics fall into a few specific categories. Treatment process videos — showing the consultation, the procedure environment and the care taken — build trust without showing identifiable results. Practitioner interview content — the injector or clinician speaking to camera about their philosophy, training and approach — creates the personal connection that drives high-value bookings. Event and congress content, if the clinic is involved in professional education, positions the practitioner as a thought leader rather than just a service provider.

Patient testimonials are powerful but require careful handling: written consent, no identifiable before-and-after without explicit approval, and platform-appropriate editing. I provide consent form templates as part of the brief process for any clinic testimonial shoot.

The equipment question

You don't need broadcast-grade equipment to produce good clinic content — but you do need to get audio right. A phone-shot clinic tour with clear, well-lit visuals is perfectly serviceable. The same tour with wind noise from an HVAC unit or an echo off clinical walls will undermine the professionalism it's trying to communicate. If you're filming in-clinic yourself, invest in a lapel microphone (a DJI Mic or Rode Wireless GO costs under £300) before you invest in any camera upgrade.

Medical aesthetics trade show demonstration videographer

Live device demonstration — medical aesthetics trade show coverage

Congress and trade show coverage

If your clinic sends practitioners to trade events, educational conferences or KOL days, these are significant content opportunities that most clinics leave on the table. A day's professional coverage of a practitioner at a Sinclair, Cynosure or HydraFacial congress event produces: a highlights video for LinkedIn, interview clips for the website, photography for press releases and event recaps. The practitioner is already there — the content investment is incremental, and it positions the clinic at the cutting edge of professional education.

Medical Aesthetics Videography

Medical aesthetics event coverage — conferences, product launches and KOL days

When to commission a professional

There are specific moments where professional production makes a material difference: the clinic's primary "hero" video for the homepage and Google Business Profile, any video content featuring named practitioners or KOLs, product launch coverage at industry events, and any content being used in paid media campaigns. The return on these is directly measurable — a professional-grade homepage video that converts 2% more visitors to enquiries pays for itself within weeks for most clinics.

For everything else — social posts, quick updates, behind-the-scenes moments — in-house content with a decent phone is often fine. The key is knowing which is which before you spend the budget.

Cynosure medical aesthetics networking event videographer London

Cynosure networking event — relationship-building content for aesthetic brands

A note on compliance

The ASA and MHRA guidelines on cosmetic advertising have tightened significantly in recent years. Any content showing or implying a clinical outcome needs careful consideration. I work within these guidelines as standard — no content produced without the appropriate consent and compliance review framework in place. If you're unsure whether planned content is compliant, I'm happy to discuss this as part of the brief before any filming begins.

Case Study

Capturing the Buzz: Medialook at Sinclair Pro Beauty London

Trade show video highlights, interviews and photography

Sinclair is one of the most recognised names in medical aesthetics — a global company behind premium injectable brands including MaiLi, Ellansé and Lanluma, and energy device platforms including Sculpt&Shape and Elysion Pro. When they bring a stand to Sinclair Pro Beauty London, one of the UK's leading aesthetics trade shows, the production quality of their event content needs to reflect the premium positioning of the brand.

Sinclair Pro Beauty London trade show booth videographer

Sinclair Pro Beauty London — trade show booth coverage

The brief

Medialook was commissioned to provide full-day photography and video coverage of the Sinclair stand at Sinclair Pro Beauty London. The deliverables: a trade show highlights video, a series of on-camera expert interviews with Sinclair's clinical team and featured KOLs, photography of the stand, demonstrations and delegate interactions for press and social media, and social-ready vertical cuts for Instagram and LinkedIn.

Trade shows move fast. There's no second take on a live demonstration, no resetting a crowd shot, and no controlling when a key KOL will be available for their interview. The coverage requires anticipation — knowing where the next significant moment is likely to happen — and the ability to capture it without disrupting the commercial activity of the stand.

Sinclair aesthetics device demonstration videographer London

Live device demonstration at the Sinclair stand — clinical precision content

On-site approach

I set up a dedicated interview area at the rear of the Sinclair stand — a branded backdrop, two-point lighting using compact Aputure panels, and a wireless lapel system — to capture structured interviews throughout the day without pulling the clinical team away from the main floor activity for extended periods. A second camera covered the stand activity, demonstrations and delegate reactions continuously.

The interview segments were planned in advance with Sinclair's marketing team: specific questions for each KOL, agreed talking points, and a list of product messages that needed to land on camera. This kind of pre-production discipline is what makes a 30-second social cut achievable in post without hours of trawling through footage looking for a usable line.

Aesthetic Trade Show Video Highlights — Sinclair

Deliverables and outcomes

The highlights video was delivered within 48 hours. Interview clips were supplied as individual files, subtitled and formatted for both 16:9 web use and 1:1 social. Photography was supplied as high-resolution and web-optimised files within 24 hours — fast enough for Sinclair's post-show press releases and social activity while the event was still being discussed.

This is now an annual engagement. Consistency of videographer across a recurring event creates a compounding advantage: I know the brand, the clinical team, the product messaging and the format — so each year's coverage is more efficiently produced and more brand-accurate than the last.

Key takeaways for trade show coverage

If you're planning video and photography coverage for a brand stand at an aesthetics or medical trade show, these are the elements that tend to determine the quality of the output: a pre-shoot briefing with marketing on key messages and interview subjects, a dedicated (even small) interview space within the stand, a realistic assessment of how many interview subjects and how much b-roll are achievable in a single day, and agreed turnaround times for different content types. The difference between great trade show content and average trade show content is almost always made before the day starts.

Guide

Top Videography Services for Your Next Project

Understanding the importance of professional videography

Not all video production is the same — and choosing the wrong type of videography for your project is one of the most common (and costly) mistakes marketing teams make. Here's a clear breakdown of the main videography service types, what each one is actually for, and how to know which fits your brief.

Event videography

Event videography covers conferences, trade shows, product launches, awards ceremonies and brand activations. The core deliverable is usually a highlights film — a punchy, music-led edit that captures the energy, key moments and atmosphere of the day. Secondary deliverables often include full session recordings, speaker interviews and social-ready clips cut to vertical formats.

The defining characteristic of good event videography is adaptability. Events don't follow a script — the videographer needs to anticipate moments, move quickly, and operate independently without disrupting the event. Turnaround time matters here: a highlights video published the day after your event will generate far more engagement than one published two weeks later.

A corporate interview setup typically involves a fixed camera, a carefully lit background, a lapel microphone and a subject speaking directly to camera or in conversation. The applications are wide: CEO communications, customer testimonials, product explainers, fireside chat recordings and thought leadership content.

Quality in this format comes down to audio, lighting and the ability to make the subject feel at ease on camera. A tense, stilted interview edit is noticeable regardless of how good the camera is.

Brand film

A brand film tells your company's story — who you are, what you stand for, and why it matters to your customers. Unlike a corporate interview or event highlights film, a brand film is usually scripted or at least heavily planned, and tends to be the highest-production-value piece in a company's content library.

Good brand films are used for years across multiple channels: website hero sections, investor decks, sales presentations, LinkedIn and recruitment campaigns. The investment is higher than other formats, but the lifespan is too.

Social media video production

Social video is a distinct discipline. Content that performs on LinkedIn, Instagram Reels or TikTok is shot and edited differently to content designed for a website or a conference screen. Vertical formats (9:16), fast pacing, front-loaded hooks and on-screen text are all standard — the goal is to stop the scroll within the first two seconds.

For consumer electronics clients in particular, social video covers a wide range of formats: device unboxings, hands-on first-look videos, camera comparison reels and KOL collaboration shoots. The key is platform-native thinking from the very start of production.

Video case study

A video case study turns a client success story into persuasive content. The typical format involves filming at the client's location, conducting on-camera interviews with key stakeholders, and weaving in b-roll footage that illustrates the context and outcome. The edit is usually between two and five minutes, structured around the challenge the client faced, what was done, and the results.

Video case studies are one of the highest-converting content formats in B2B marketing — a well-produced one can be used throughout the sales funnel for months or years.

How to choose

Start with where the video will live and who will watch it. A LinkedIn audience scrolling on mobile needs something very different to a room full of conference delegates or a sales team presenting to prospects. Matching the format to the context — rather than defaulting to whatever format you've used before — is what produces results rather than just content.

Guide

What Makes a Good Corporate Video? Lessons from the Field

Real experience from producing corporate videos in London

After years of producing corporate videos across London and the UK — for global brands, fast-growing startups, medical device companies and consumer electronics launches — I've noticed a consistent pattern: the videos that actually get used by marketing teams share a handful of specific qualities. The ones that don't tend to share different ones. This is what separates a corporate video that performs from one that disappears into a shared drive.

It starts before the camera

The most common reason a corporate video fails to deliver is a vague brief. "We want something professional that showcases the brand" is not a brief — it's a starting point for a conversation. A good production process begins with specific questions: Who is the intended viewer? Where exactly will this be published? What do you want them to think, feel or do after watching? What's the one thing the video must communicate?

A good videographer will push for these answers before talking about cameras, locations or schedules. If they don't, that's a warning sign.

Audio is more important than the camera

Viewers will tolerate imperfect visuals before they'll tolerate bad audio. Muddy dialogue, background noise or inconsistent audio levels will kill a corporate video regardless of how good the cinematography is. Broadcast-grade audio — lapel microphones, boom mics, direct feeds from PA systems at live events — is non-negotiable for professional production.

On location shoots, this often means a pre-production visit or at least a detailed conversation about the filming environment. Concrete rooms, air conditioning units and open-plan offices all create specific audio challenges that need to be planned around, not discovered on the day.

Corporate video production Appian x Yexle Walkie Talkie London

Appian x Yexle — 20 Fenchurch Street, London

The Appian x Yexle shoot — a real example

One of the more memorable briefs I've received was from Appian and Yexle, filmed at the Walkie Talkie building in London. The challenge wasn't technical — it was conceptual. Both company names are routinely mispronounced, and the video needed to address this directly while demonstrating a genuine working partnership between the two teams.

The solution was a two-camera shot-reverse-shot interview format, with the Managing Director of Yexle and a senior manager from Appian speaking directly to each other rather than to camera. The format created natural, conversational pronunciation of both names in context — something a scripted monologue couldn't have achieved. The final video was used across global sales and marketing channels.

The lesson: the format should serve the communication objective, not the other way around.

Turnaround time is part of the product

For event-based content, post-production speed is a commercial consideration, not just a convenience. A conference highlights video published 72 hours after the event captures momentum — delegates are still talking about it, LinkedIn is still active, the conversations are live. The same video published three weeks later competes with whatever happened last week.

Fast turnaround requires pre-production planning: knowing in advance which moments matter, having music selections ready, and building an edit workflow that doesn't start from scratch at the end of a long filming day. It's not about cutting corners — it's about being organised enough that speed is possible.

The deliverables conversation

Modern video production rarely produces one output. A single shoot — a brand film, a conference day, a product launch — can generate a main video, a 60-second cut for social, a 15-second cut for ads, vertical formats for Instagram and TikTok, and still frames for press. The economics of a single shoot day producing multiple assets are compelling.

Agree on all deliverables before production begins. Adding them after the edit is complete is possible but expensive — you're essentially commissioning a new edit. The conversation is much easier (and cheaper) when it happens during pre-production planning.

Guide

The Ultimate Guide to Hiring a Freelance Videographer

Everything you need to know before hiring

Hiring a freelance videographer is one of the most impactful production decisions a marketing team or event organiser can make — and one of the easiest to get wrong. After years of working with clients across corporate events, medical conferences, brand films and tech launches, I've seen what separates a successful brief from a frustrating one. This guide covers what you should actually look for, ask, and agree before anyone picks up a camera.

Freelance videographer filming trade show interview London

On-location interview — the kind of situation a good videographer handles without direction

Know exactly what you're hiring for

The term "videographer" covers a huge range of skills and approaches. Someone brilliant at intimate brand films may struggle in a fast-moving conference environment. A strong event videographer may not have the patience for a controlled interview setup. Before you start looking, define your project type clearly: is it a live event with unpredictable timing, a scripted brand video, a series of talking-head interviews, or something else? The answer changes who you need.

What to look for in a portfolio

Watch the work — not the showreel. Showreels are edited to the best moments of the best projects; they tell you very little. Ask to see full-length examples that match your brief. If you're hiring for a conference, ask to see a full conference highlights video, not a 90-second music-led compilation. Check the audio quality (often the first thing to fail at live events), the shot variety, and whether the edit feels rushed or thoughtful.

Also look at the consistency across projects. A portfolio with five exceptional videos is more trustworthy than one with 30 mediocre ones.

Questions worth asking before you book

The questions you ask during enquiry reveal almost as much as the portfolio. Good ones to start with:

Understanding rates and what drives the cost

Rates vary enormously. A London-based professional with broadcast-grade equipment typically charges from £750 for a half day (up to 4 hours) or £1,200 for a full day (up to 9 hours on-site). Post-production — editing, colour grading, audio mixing — is quoted separately and depends on the complexity and number of deliverables.

The things that push cost up: multi-camera setups, same-day turnaround edits, drone footage, multiple deliverable formats, and specialist environments like medical events or international conferences. Be upfront about your deliverables from the start — surprises mid-project are how budgets spiral.

Brief well and the result follows

The quality of a video is largely determined by the quality of the brief. A good videographer will push back on a vague brief — that's a positive sign. The brief should cover: the purpose of the video, the intended audience, where it'll be used (LinkedIn, internal comms, a website landing page), the tone, any key moments that must be captured, and the deadline. A run-of-show for events is essential — without it, a videographer is guessing which moments matter.

The most successful client relationships are the ones where the videographer is treated as a creative collaborator from the planning stage, not a camera operator who shows up on the day.

CONFERENCE
VIDEOGRAPHER
LONDON.

Professional conference and corporate event video production across London and the UK. Fast-turnaround content that your marketing team can actually use — delivered within 24–72 hours.

The challenge

Most conferences are over in a day — and the content is lost.

Your organisation invests significantly in speakers, venues and delegates. Without professional video coverage, that investment produces nothing lasting. A well-filmed conference should generate weeks of marketing content — keynote clips, speaker interviews, social reels — not disappear the moment the room empties.

What I deliver

Content your team will actually use.

Every deliverable is planned around how your marketing, comms and sales teams will use the footage — not just what looks good on the day.

  • Conference highlight films — 90 seconds to 5 minutes
  • Keynote and panel session recordings
  • On-site speaker and delegate interviews
  • Social-ready clips (16:9, 1:1 and 9:16)
  • Multi-camera setups for large-format events

Corporate Video Production in the Thames Valley — Why Local Matters

How being based in Berkshire makes a difference for Reading, Bracknell and Newbury clients

If your business is based along the M4 corridor — Reading, Bracknell, Newbury, Wokingham, Windsor — and you're looking for a corporate videographer, you face a choice that most marketers don't think about until they see the invoice: do you hire a London agency and pay for their travel time, or find someone who's already on your doorstep?

The Thames Valley corporate market

Farnborough in Hampshire — just 8 miles from my base in Crowthorne — is home to the UK offices of Lenovo and Motorola, two of the biggest names in consumer electronics. Both run regular product launches, trade press events, KOL days and internal communications shoots, and both are clients I work with regularly. That proximity matters: a shoot at Lenovo or Motorola in Farnborough is a 15-minute drive, not a £200 return train journey.

The stretch of Berkshire between the M3 and M4 is home to an extraordinary concentration of major corporate offices. Microsoft's UK headquarters is at Thames Valley Park in Reading. Vodafone's main campus is in Newbury. Bracknell alone has the UK offices of Fujitsu, Panasonic, Honda, 3M, Dell, HP and BMW. Oracle and Cisco are in Reading. This isn't a commuter belt — it's a genuine business district, running events, conferences, product launches and internal communications shoots week in, week out.

Yet most of the videographers pitching for this work are either based in London (and billing travel) or local sole traders with limited corporate experience. There's a gap in the middle — and it's where Medialook sits.

What "local" actually means in practice

Being based in Crowthorne, Berkshire means I'm 4 miles from Bracknell, 10 miles from Reading, 22 miles from Newbury and 7 miles from Wokingham. For a corporate shoot, this matters in ways that go beyond just the travel cost line on your quote.

It means I can do a pre-production site visit without charging for a day's travel. It means I can arrive for a 7am setup without having left London at 5am. It means that if something unexpected happens on the day — a reshoot, an additional interview, a change of venue — the logistics are simple. And it means my day rate doesn't need to absorb a two-hour commute each way.

The kind of work that suits a Thames Valley client

Corporate video production in this part of Berkshire tends to fall into a few specific categories. Conference and event coverage is the most common — the kind of work where a company needs a keynote filmed, a highlights reel cut and social clips ready within 48 hours. Executive interview and talking head production is another regular brief: a finance director in Reading needs a piece to camera for the investor section of the website, or an HR team needs a series of internal comms videos filmed at their Bracknell office.

Product launch videography is particularly relevant here given the concentration of tech and consumer electronics companies. The Xiaomi launch event, the Honor brand work, the Motorola social content — these are all examples of the kind of tech-driven, fast-turnaround video production that the Thames Valley market needs regularly, and that a London crew with day-return travel costs is poorly positioned to provide cost-effectively.

Conference Event Highlights — Thames Valley Corporate

Corporate conference highlights — fast-turnaround content for Thames Valley clients

No travel costs — what that actually saves

A London-based video production company filming at Microsoft's Thames Valley Park campus will typically add a day rate equivalent for travel time, or at minimum a travel expense line of £150–£300 for rail, cab and time. Multiplied across a two-day conference shoot, that's a meaningful number. For a half-day interview shoot it can represent 20–30% of the total production cost.

Based locally, I don't charge travel expenses for locations across Berkshire. The rate is the rate — £750 for a half day, £1,200 for a full day — and there's no additional line for getting there.

Getting in touch

If you're a marketing or comms team based in Reading, Bracknell, Newbury, Wokingham or anywhere across Berkshire and the Thames Valley, I'd be happy to talk through your next project. I'm based in Crowthorne, RG45 — which puts me minutes from the corporate campuses of Lenovo and Motorola in Farnborough, Microsoft in Reading, Vodafone in Newbury, and Fujitsu, Honda, Panasonic, 3M and Dell in Bracknell.

A London-based crew filming at Thames Valley Park or Bracknell's business parks will typically add £150–£300 in travel expenses, or bill you for 2–3 hours of travel time at day-rate. That's before anyone picks up a camera.

Being local means the rate you see is the rate you pay. No travel surcharges, no accommodation for early starts, no commute factored into the quote.

Why it works alongside video

One brief. Consistent across every format.

Most brands work with separate video and design suppliers — which means briefing twice, chasing two timelines and hoping the outputs look like they belong to the same campaign.

When the videographer and designer are the same person — or the same team — the visual language stays consistent. The lighting from the product shoot informs the colour palette on the banner. The motion from the campaign video feeds directly into the GDN animated assets. The photography from the event appears in the social post the following morning.

For clients like Lenovo and Motorola in Farnborough, this means a single shoot day can generate: a launch video, a set of social posts, a GDN banner suite, press ad artwork and a rollup banner for the next trade show — all on-brand, all consistent, all from one brief.

TYPICAL CAMPAIGN ASSETS
Hero campaign video (30s / 60s cuts)
Social posts (3–6 formats per platform)
GDN banner set (5–8 IAB formats)
Rollup banner (800×2000mm, print-ready)
Press / trade ad (full or half page)
POS / retail display materials
Photography

Great design starts with great photography.

Every print ad, social post and GDN banner is only as strong as the imagery inside it. Stock photography is recognisable — and in competitive categories like consumer electronics, it positions your brand alongside every other brand using the same image library.

My corporate photography service provides the product, event and lifestyle imagery that feeds directly into the design workflow — captured at your location or event, retouched and delivered alongside the finished design assets as part of a single project.

I can supply everything a campaign needs from a single shoot day:
Product photography for print and digital use
Event and lifestyle photography at your location
Retouched high-res files supplied same-day or next-day
Imagery supplied in formats ready for the design workflow
